“Professional: I called and emailed four different Charlotte stagers. Maycyne was the only one to return my call and email me. …She was on time for every appointment we made, …arrived ready to work with a plan or agenda. She was aware of my son's budget and kept him apprised of costs. Her invoices were timely and exact. I understand the difficulty of putting numbers of hours and dollars on such a project but she did it very well. Too, she kept us all on focus… Marcyne is fantastic about staying on task and subtly having others do the same. She would arrive on time with every supply needed for any job, and some new gizmos for making everything from picture hanging to lights in plants better. Marcyne has the unique talent of seeing the big picture and simultaneously noting all the smallest details that will make the big picture perfect. She is fun to work with but doesn't waste valuable time and when she leaves, there is nothing to pick up or put back. Creativity: After contacting Marcyne and explaining about her consultation being a surprise Christmas gift, she suggested she drop over Christmas eve. She arrived with a huge, gorgeous present which contained four different edible treats (she's a great cook) and a detailed certificate for the gift. She met my son, toured his condo, took some pictures, and left already thinking about plans and possibilities. She has an artist's eye. She can gather up random pictures, photos, and artwork and create wonderful wall art. She can take an old bookcase turn it on its side and have a place to store professional journals while using is as a table for the back of a couch. I showed her thirty or so white paint chips to use on kitchen cabinets. She looked at them all for about three minutes and chose one that is just perfect. She could go into a closet or room and emerge with something the my son didn't even know he had and then she would turn it into something that was perfect for another room. Jill Of All Trades: I worked with Marcyne one afternoon. She had decided to reconfigure my son's desk and turn it around. This desk is the Gordian knot and Rubik's cube of desks. It had to weigh 200 pounds (twice Marcyne's weight) but she lifted it up, undid a few screws, and had it apart in minutes. Rebuilding it seemed impossible and I was ready to drag it to the dump. Marcyne persisted and drilled a few new holes and rebuilt the desk so that it looks great in a smaller room. Then she lassoed multiple computer, etc cords and created an organized work area from complete chaos. Upon seeing a finished bedroom, I noticed pillows on the bed. We had looked and looked for just the right pillow but couldn't find any. I asked my son where he had found these perfect ones and he told me Marcyne had made them. Networking: Marcyne can tackle any project but she also knows everybody in the Charlotte area. Painters, handymen, and carpenters. Also, she is the best shopper ever. If my son mentioned he wanted a brown bar stool, she would offer him 3-4 stores in the area that would have the item or refer him to a web site. She is very talented at using what you have but if you want to purchase a new item, Marcyne will know where to get it and what is costs. Listener: Marcyne is an excellent listener. She listened to what my son wanted and helped him define some ideas that weren't well formulated. She would ask what he thought about moving this or taking something out and worked with him and his tastes. Since the project was for increasing real estate value, Marcyne would subtly suggest ideas that would be more appealing to prospective buyers. I only worked with Marcyne one afternoon and my son was usually at work so she could have gone in and rearranged things that way she thought best. Instead, she took time to see and hear other people's ideas and honored her client's wishes too. She's A Lady: Marcyne is very bright, engaging, and fun to be around. Her soft voice and thoughtful ways cover up a gifted dynamo. My son was a little unsure how much help he wanted from a professional. After working with Marcyne, seeing the finished product, and living in this new environment, he is completely sold on staging for selling and living. He is proud of his new surroundings and enjoys coming home to a well organized, updated, and peaceful home. He had a small party for his friends to see his "new" place and everyone asked for Marcyne's business card. They had seen the before and couldn't believe the after. I recently saw the finished project and couldn't believe it. I can see Marcyne's artistic talents and hard work but I also see my son's favorite things and know that Marcyne listened to what he wanted too. I guess you're wondering how the selling of the condo is progressing and how much more did the staging efforts earn him. After living in his newly staged condo, he has decided to stay there a bit longer. He says he had no idea his place could look and feel so good. I recommend Marcyne to you without any hesitation. She is the hardest working artisan I have ever met. |
